on Insect Farming and Circular Economy
The APRISE project is pleased to announce the first session of its joint webinar series with ENFiber COST Action and ProxIMed project.
The webinar, titled Insects for Food, Feed and Beyond: Circular Economy in Practice, will be delivered by Prof. Christos Athanassiou from the University of Thessaly on 10 August 2026 at 09:00 CEST via Microsoft Teams.
The session will introduce insect farming as a rapidly developing alternative protein production system and explore how the sector has evolved across Europe and other industrialised regions. It will also examine applications extending beyond food and feed, from fertiliser production to plant protection products, demonstrating the wider potential of insect farming within a circular economy.
Prof. Athanassiou will share insights from the CIPROMED project and the Insect Farming Initiative at Kansas State University.
The programme will consist of a 40-minute presentation followed by a short Q&A. The webinar is free and open to everyone, although prior registration is required.
